DOWIE DOOLE, MCLAREN VALE MASTER AND GRASSHOPPER UNOAKED CHARDONNAY

Year : 2007
 Volume : 750ml
The Chardonnay was sourced from 20 year old vines in the Clare ValIey.The season produced near perfect growing conditions. Spring was warm with October warmer than usual suggesting a long hot summer. However maximum temperatures in January/February were below the long term average. Autumn was warm and dry with virtually no rain, so vintage proceeded without interruption and at a hectic pace All white varieties showed good varietal character and very clean, well presented fruit.
Pale to mid yellow color.Ripe stone fruits, tropical fruits such as pineapple and a hint of nuttiness.
This wine is full bodied, rich with white peaches and apricots un-oaked with a little residual sweetness on the fresh, clean finish.
Good with spicy food-chilli prawns or squid or a light curry based dish would make ideal accompaniments. Alternatively, drink as an aperitif with some fresh oysters and lime, or a pate or terrine.
